Tress Ann Yearick, 86, of Centre Hall, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
She was born January 26, 1926, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Harford and Mary McCartle Bersinger.
On July 13, 1947, at the Evangelical Church on Logan Street in Lewistown, she married John (Jack) H. Yearick who survives at home.
Tress Ann graduated from Lewistown High School. After moving to Centre Hall she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. As a 7th degree member of Progress Grange in Centre Hall, she enjoyed many of the activities of the Grange and was a member of Pomona Grange. She was an avid sports enthusiast always rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies, but the sporting events she enjoyed most were any sports her family was involved in, rarely if ever missing on of her grandchildren's games.
A gifted cook and baker, Mrs. Yearick worked as a cook at Penns Valley High School and for many years served as the head cook at Centre Hall Elementary School until her retirement.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Tress Ann Eminhizer and her husband Brent of Drifting; a son John N. Yearick and his wife Connie of Centre Hall, two grandchildren Michael Eminhizer and his wife Rachel and Brandi Yearick -Brodzina and her husband Roy; and four great grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Eminhizer and Dakota and Mason Brodzina and a daughter in law Meriam Yearick.
A cherished grandson Bryan N. Yearick, her parents, one sister Marjorie Batton and two brothers, James and Raymond Bersinger preceded her in death.
Friends will be received from 9 - 10:15 a. m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, 127 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. An honorary service by members of Progress Grange will be held at 10:15 a. m. at the church, followed immediately by the funeral service, with the Reverend Judi Hulslander officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
Following her explicit wishes, the family has asked that flowers be omitted and that contributions in Tress Ann's memory may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, P. O.
