Viola R."Kitty" Vonada

Loving mother of six children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren passed from this life to her life eternal on June 18, 2014, at home.
Kitty was born to Ralph and Mary (Elder) Walker August 28, 1928, in Penna Furnace, PA. She was married to Mervin J. Vonada on July 29, 1951. Kitty had a passion for helping others and cared for many people in their homes after her retirement as a cook at Penn State University. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmers Mills, Spring Mills, PA and a member of the Penns Valley Grange Assn.
Kitty was preceded in passing from this life by her three sisters, Olive Williams, Dorothy Shawver, and Sara "Dolly" Conrad and her two brothers Stine and William Walker. Kitty's husband Mervin passed from this life July 11, 1982, at the age of 54. Her youngest son Edwin Jay Vonada was killed in an ATV accident on Sept 8, 1985. And one granddaughter Megan (Brooks) Vonada passed from this life Nov 30, 2013.
Kitty is survived by two sons Ralph (Dorothy) Vonada, M. Dale (Ruth) Vonada, three daughters Sharon (Wilbur) Warren, Jean Vonada, and Carolann (Scott) Thompson. Also surviving their grandmother are seven grandchildren Patricia (Scott) Hovanec, Elizabeth (Danny) Isaacs, Emily (Russell) Adamson, Rebecca (Elvis) Anzueto, Matthew Vonada, Jeremy (Lyndsey) Swarm, and Philip Vonada. Kitty is also survived by five great grandchildren Haydn and Donavyn Adamson, Christopher and Gabriel Anzueto Estrada and Madelyn Vonada.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association P. O. Box 96011, Washington DC 20090-6011 in hopes of finding a prevention and cure of the mind robbing disease from which Kitty suffered for the past six or more years. More info at www.alz.org
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the funeral home; with Pastor Michael Price officiating.
Interment will be at St. John's Union Cemetery in Farmers Mills, immediately following the services and a luncheon to follow at the church social room.
