Violet M. Richards, 90, of State College, died Monday, December 8, 2003 at the Fairways, at Brookline Village, in State College, PA
She was born April 1, 1913 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Frank F. and Susan Clinton Slocum Waibel.
On June 2, 1934 she married Bennett Wyman Richards who preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1989.
She attended Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia.
She was a member of the State College Woman's Club. She was a talented cook who especially enjoyed bowling, knitting and sewing.
Surviving are a daughter Beverly A. Richards-Smith of Hancock, Maine; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and a sister Ruth Mercer.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Bennett W. Richards and a sister Dorothy Ratti.
Friends will be received from 1 - 2 p. m. Thurs. Dec. 11, 2003 at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p. m. Thursday at the Kyper Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Burn officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
