Violet L. Weeden's Obituary
Violet L Weeden, 97, of State College, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
She was born November 13, 1914, in Athol, NY a daughter of the late John E. and Ethel May Dow Lanfear.
On June 21, 1941, she married Harmer A. Weeden who preceded her in death November 10, 1990.
She graduated form Glens Falls High School in Glens Falls, NY in 1933. She went on to attend Cornell University graduating in 1938 with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Weeden was a member St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College and a member of the Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society of State College.
Surviving Mrs. Weeden is a son Paul A. Weeden and his wife Elizabeth of Stormstown, one brother, Alfred J. Lanfear of Glens Falls, NY, and six grandchildren, Elsbetta Bassett, Emma Pantano, Suzanne Kondash, Edward and Jonathan Weeden and Jamie Graninger; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Sylvia A. Graninger.
Enichement will be in the Garden Mausoleum at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Centre Crest Activities Fund, 502 Howard Avenue, Bellefonte, PA 16801.
