Vivian Marie (Shay) Peterson, 49, of Spring Mills, died at home surrounded by her family, Wednesday, February 21st, 2007. She was born in Lock Haven Hospital on December 8,1957. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Shay Jr., and Olive Malinda Smith Shay Witmer and step-father, Richard L. Witmer. Vivian was a graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School, in the class of 1976. She also graduated from PICC in 1980. She was employed at Omega Financial. She was a kind and caring person, always putting others before herself. Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved to cook and bake. In October 1978 she married James C. Peterson Jr. who survives at home. Also surviving are two children, James C. Peterson III(Angelina) and Nicole Rae Teeters (Shawn); 3 grandchildren, Isabella Peterson, Dalton, Adam, and Austin Teeters. 3 brothers Gary L. Shay (Shirley), Terry L. Shay, and Michael C. Shay; 4 sisters, Sheila M. Davis, Janice M. Harpster (Steve), Wendy L. Shay, and Kimberly A. Beard (Sam); 14 nephews, and 9 nieces; 2 great-nephews, and 4 great-nieces She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore M. Shay. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening, February 23rd and on Saturday , February 24th from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 24th at 11:a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. K. R. Mele of Family Life of Penns Valley. Burial will be private.
