Wayne A. Colpetzer, 76, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at UPMC in Altoona.
He was born August 29, 1939, in Bellefonte, a son of the late William and Dorothy Colpetzer..
On June 1, 1968, he married Judy M. Gummo Colpetzer who survives at home.
Wayne was a graduate of State College High School. Early in life for nearly 20 years, he worked for Meadow Pride Dairy, then for over thirty years, he was employed in the maintenance department of the State College School District.
He is a member of Bible Baptist Church in Warriors Mark. Spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Hailey, was the highlight of his life, and spending time out of doors was his way of relaxing even if he was doing a difficult project.
Surviving Mr. Colpetzer in addition to his wife Judy; are two daughters Tonia J. Houck (Brian) of Warriors Mark and Tina M. Colpetzer of Pennsylvania Furnace; one granddaughter, Hailey S. Houck; two brothers, Harold Colpetzer (Nancy) of Oklahoma, and William R.Colpetzer (Gloria) of Granville; his mother and father in law, Roy and Bella Gummo of Pennsylvania Furnace and a sister in law Alene Colpetzer; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James Colpetzer.
Friends will be received from 5:30 - 7:30. Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service P. C., 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A memorial service will follow immediately at 7:30 p. m. at the funeral home; with the Reverend Alan Kilian officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Graysville Cemetery near Spruce Creek.
