Wendy Ruth Ray, 67, of Boalsburg, died Friday, February 6, 2004, at her residence.
She was born September 6, 1936, in Detroit, MI, a daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Abraham Allie.
In 1955, she married Jimmie L. Ray who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ray worked as an assistant manager of Vargo's Restaurant in Houston, TX, for many years.
She was a member of State College Assembly of God, where she was active in the nursing home ministry and the Ladies Bible Study Group.
Mrs. Ray was known for her faith and love for Christ. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and enjoyed antique shopping. She was an avid and accomplished cook.
She is survived by a daughter, Melanie Ann Ray, of Battle Creek, MI; two sons, Charles David Ray of State College and Michael Harvey Ray of Cypress, TX; one sister, Darlene Rains of Wayne, MI; one brother Charles Allie of Dallas, TX, and eight grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Lynn Ray, in 1960.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, February, 12, 2004, at the Chapel of State College Assembly of God, 2201 University Drive Extension, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2004, at the church, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Grabill and the Rev. Harry Brotzman, officiating.
Burial will be in the Boalsburg Cemetery, Boalsburg, PA.
