Willard G. Fultz, 72, of Centre Hall, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
He was born April 8, 1933, a son of the late Samuel Raymond and Sallie Mae Hackett Fultz.
On September 5, 1953, he married Miriam R. Hagan who preceded him in death on June 2, 2002.
Mr. Fultz graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School in 1951.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission for 15 years. He then went to work at his father in law's (Hagan's Garage) in Centre Hall and later bought the garage and operated it until his retirement in 1984. He also served as tax collector in the borough of Centre Hall for many years.
Willard was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmers Mills, where he served in various capacities including Sunday School Superintendent and Church Council. He served on Centre Hall Borough Council and was a member of the Centre Hall Lions Club. He was also a member of the Logan Sportsman's Club at Blue Ball, and charter member of the McGuffy's Raiders Hunting Group.
Earlier in life he enjoyed fishing, was an avid archery hunter and enjoyed all other types of hunting.
He is survived by one son David S. Fultz and his wife Lisa of Old Forge; four grandchildren, Justin M. and Heather N. Lucas and David C. and Connor M. Fultz and three brothers, M. Ardell Fultz of Palm Bay, Florida, Ronald H. Fultz of Centre Hall, and Bradley K. Fultz of Rebersburg.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Karen L. Lucas, a son in law Randall F. Lucas and a brother R. Dean Fultz.
Friends will be received from 4 - 5 and 7 - 9 p. m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, May 12, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmers Mills, with the Rev. N. Gregory VanDyke officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Farmers Mills.
