Willard Eugene Rearick, 76 of rural Port Matilda, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Willard was born on April 20, 1929, in Ferguson Township, PA. He was a son of the late Charles C. and Hanna M. (Amy) Rearick. In September 1945 he married Anna M. Jackson who died March 24, 1999. On March 23, 2000 he married Lucille M. Tressler who survives at home.
In addition to his wife, Willard is survived by three daughters: Donna Johnson of Howard, Chris Keister and her husband Bill of Port Matilda, and Sandra Benfer and her husband Dave of Martinsburg, PA, and two stepdaughters: Penny Showan and Colleen Garbrick; a son: Garry and his wife Beth of Lewistown and a stepson: Ron Harpster. ALso surviving are: 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death: Rachael Myers and Twilla Chronister.
Early in his career Willard worked for the Pierce Milk Company both in the plant and in transportation. He retired as a plumber from Penn State University.
Willard was a member of the State College Assembly of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, gardening, and painting.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday February 25, 2006 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral & Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday February 26, 2006 at 3:00 PM at the State College Assembly of God, 2201 University Dr. extension, State College, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park.
