Obituary

William (Bill) Calvin Knepp went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at the age of 86. Bill was born on December 30, 1928, to the late William Peter and Mary Knepp. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lois Jean Knepp. Bill is survived by his three children: daughter Kay with husband Scott, son William E., and son David with wife Chris, as well as eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Delores and brother David with wife Judy. Bill was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, awarded the Purple Heart during his service in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, Life Member of the State College Legion, Life Member of Fraternal Order of Police, and Life Member of the Boalsburg Fire Department. Bill served his community as Justice of the Peace, Constable, and Harris Township Police Officer, eventually retiring from Penn State Police Services. Even after retirement, Bill remained active by providing security for rare coin and stamp shows. Additionally, he worked in a shoe repair shop and for two funeral homes.
Bill was a member of The Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 3601 South Atherton Street, State College, PA 16801, where family and friends will be received for a 2:00 p.m. service, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, December 26, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Bethel Church of the Nazarene. A guestbook can be signed and condolences sent to the family at www. heintzelmanfuneralhome.com.
