William Merritt Cole June 10, 1957 - February 8, 2007 It is with heartfelt love and loss that we announce the passing of our father, son and brother on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at home. Bill was born June 10, 1957, in Bellefonte, the second son of John M. and Susan Pierce Cole of Centre Hall. He was a graduate of Penns Valley High School, was a member of the wrestling team, a sports enthusiast and a lifelong Indiana Colts fan. He was a lieutenant at State Correctional Institution at Waymart. Bill had a handsome smile and a friendly charm that drew people in and left everyone he knew feeling like they had made a new best friend. Family was very important to Bill, and he enjoyed a close, loving relationship with his entire family. His generous heart benefited many people in need who never learned his name but would never forget his kindness. He is survivied by a son, Benjamin Garrett Cole and his fiancee, Alicia Polansky. of Archbald and a daughter, Amber Brooke Cole, of State College; his companion, Lori Hess; two brothers, Christopher J. and his wife, Barbara Cole, of Centre Hall and Chad T. and his wife, Rhonda Cole, of Centre Hall; two sisters, Kelly C. and her husband, Randy Benner, of Centre Hall and Amanda Cole, of State College; and many nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13. 2007, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church, with the Rev. S. Leigh Pick, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fallen Officers Family Fund at SCI Waymart or United Cerebral Palsy.
