William Richard Lamb

William R. Lamb, "Bill" passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in York, PA from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Bill, born in Chester Hill, PA, the son of the late Leonard Lamb and Mildred Bessie Smeal. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Laurine A. Lamb (Larson) and his brother Gerald L. Lamb. Bill is survived by his daughters, Karen L. (Ever) Gonzalez of York, PA and Janice A. (Eric) Baerwald of Arnold, MD. Bill was the proud grandfather of Ever J. Gonzalez and Mikaelie S. Gonzalez of York, PA and Chloe E. Baerwald, Elise F. Baerwald and Connor W. Baerwald of Arnold, MD. Vickie N. Batcher of Naples, FL survives her brother.
A graduate of Phillipsburg High School and Williamsport Technical Institute in the profession of draftsman and later becoming the supervisor of the drafting group at Lockheed Martin, Baltimore, MD. Proud of his service to the U.S. Navy, Bill shared stories of his travels throughout the world, flying on Navy aircraft and as he would say, "never setting foot on a ship." Bill enjoyed both hunting and trout fly-fishing and would tie his flies, which he shared with others. An accomplished gardener, Bill would cut flowers from his garden and share with family and friends when he would visit. He also helped his daughters by transplanting from his garden to those in their homes beautifying landscapes across America.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at The Brunswick at Longstown
2830 Carol Road, York PA 17402. The celebration will take place in the Community room on the ground level with The Rt. Rev'd Barry E. Yingling officiating.
