Obituary

William R. Lowry, 95, of State College, formerly of New Jersey and Huntingdon, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at the Fairways at Brookline Village at State College.
He was born December 12, 1912, in Weston, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late Robert and Marie Catherine Blaney Lowry.
On June 28, 1933, in New York City, he married Dorothy F. Berin who preceded him in death on September 14, 1999.
Mr. Lowry was the last member of his immediate family in his generation. He is survived by a daughter Colleen Judith Andiorio of Harrisburg.
William graduated from Plainfield High School in Plainfield, NJ. He served in the U. S. Army Transportation Corps during World War II, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He worked for ITT World Communications in New York City for forty three years, retiring in 1971. Following his retirement, he worked for Pennfield Gas Company for eighteen years, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1754, in Huntingdon. He was an avid model railroad enthusiast.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 p. m. Friday, December, 28, 2007 at Mark D. Heintzleman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
