Yvonne M. Stover, 75, of Centre Hall, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at her residence.
She was born January 30, 1934, in Millheim, a daughter of the late Paul William Bright Sr. and Grace Rebecca Breon Bright.
She married Earl Stover June 29, 1957, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2008.
Mrs. Stover is survived by a daughter Crystal S. McMullen and her husband John of Lexington, KY; three sons, David E. Stover and his wife Angela of Littleton, CO, Bryan D. Stover and Kenneth W. Stover, both of State College; a step son, Franklin H. Stover and his wife Patricia, of State College; seven grandchildren, John B. McMullen. Collin D., Wesley J., Travis W., Michelle L., Christopher P., and Jessica E. Stover; and one great granddaughter, Sylvia Stover; one sister, Geraldine Grace Rossman and her husband Eugene of Centre Hall and a brother Paul William Bright Jr. and his wife Lisa of Belleville.
Yvonne graduated from East Penns Valley High School in 1951, and later graduated from Harrisburg School of Business.
She was employed at Laurelton State School and Hospital as an aide in the workshop. She later went to work as a secretary at Penn State University until her retirement.
Mrs. Stover attended the former State College Free Methodist Church now know as Stepping Stones Community Church. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society, Tall Tops, the Centre Hall Garden Club and the Centre Hall Woman's Club.
While living in the Millheim area, she was active in the beautification project of Fountain Park established in 2000 in Millheim. Yvonne enjoyed crafts and painting, playing cards, sewing, traveling; and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State sports fan.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 a. m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Mark D, Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home, with the Reverend David Michel officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
